Since the outbreak of the epidemic, the shipping market has been in chaos frequently, and the freight is higher and higher day by day. The freight of container ship is one of them.

In addition, the freight of bulk carriers has also increased a lot. The most frightening thing is that LNG carriers also began to soar, and the increase is not small.

Due to the energy crisis in Asia and Europe, the spot freight of LNG carriers on the route is more than 260000 US dollars per day.

According to the relevant data, the spot freight rates of various LNG carriers are generally rising, as follows:

  • The spot freight rate of LNG carriers promoted by Megi is US $180000 / day, an increase of 65% compared with last week.

  • Steam powered LNG carriers also reached US $110000 / day, an increase of 60% compared with last week.

  • The spot freight rate of diesel engine LNG carrier was US $157500, an increase of 86% compared with last week.

On October 15, the spot freight rate of LNG carriers soared by 40% in one day.

According to the data of spark commodities, a Singapore LNG freight evaluation company, the freight rate of the Pacific route is US $20250 / day, while that of the Atlantic route is US $138250 / day.

Tim, chief executive of the company, said that this record freight rate level was mainly due to the lack of transport capacity in the Pacific region and the strong global freight demand.

At the same time, as the northern hemisphere has entered the winter heating season, the demand for LNG has increased, making its price rise.

China has always been one of the big buyers of LNG. Recently, due to the shortage of coal, China's demand for LNG has become more urgent.

According to relevant data, China imported 10.62 million tons of LNG in September, 22.6% higher than the same period last year.

According to the latest report of poten & partners, a ship brokerage and consulting company, the LNG market will continue to heat up until 2023.

The strong demand in Asia and the increase of supply in the United States may promote the growth of transportation demand.
