At present, the situation of shipping is still very tense, and the port congestion and container shortage have not been well alleviated. But good news came in.

According to the FBX, spot container freight rates in Asia - North America continued to fall this week, the second consecutive week. This gives the painful shipper a glimmer of hope.

However, contrary to the Asia - North America route, the latest freight rate of Asia - Europe route has increased slightly.

According to specific data, the freight rate from China to the west coast of the United States is $19175 per 40 feet, down from $20143 last week.

Similarly, freight rates to the east coast of the United States have declined. From $21823 per 40 feet last week to $21804.

Some analysts believe that this phenomenon may be related to the upcoming Chinese national day.

"Many ships are put into use before the holidays. This has alleviated the shortage of transportation capacity to a certain extent, so the price will drop."

Although the freight price has decreased slightly, the port congestion has not been fundamentally alleviated. Especially in Los Angeles port and Long Beach port in the United States.

Freightos official said: "at present, the trans Pacific transportation demand is still great, and shipping companies are also increasing their transportation capacity to cope with the surge in demand."

Now, many shipping companies transfer their ships from other routes to the trans Pacific region to obtain more profits. This has brought some troubles to the transportation of other routes.

However, the low turnover efficiency of containers is one of the main reasons for congestion. To this end, the port operator announced to extend the opening time of truck gates to speed up the handling of containers.

According to statistics, there are still nearly 70 ships waiting for unloading, with an average waiting time of nearly 10 days.

At the same time, freight rates in Asia - Europe continued to rise slightly. So far, it has reached US $14593, up from US $14378 last week.

Maersk announced this week that due to the high density of wharf yard in Hamburg Port, the waiting time of ships is long. The Asia - Europe route will not stop at the port and turn to the NTB terminal of Bremen port.
