After the epidemic in Yantian port, Shenzhen, there was also a rebound in the epidemic at Meishan wharf, Ningbo. Although the situation has been stable so far, the impact still exists, especially for shipping companies.

On August 10, a suspicious positive person appeared at Meishan Wharf in Ningbo. The next day, the terminal operator urgently suspended all suitcase services and other ship operations. By August 16, the wharf was still closed.

After the terminal operator issued the notice of suspension of service, many shipping companies also urgently adjusted the original shipping plan and updated the shipping schedule.

These include large shipping companies such as Dafei and Maersk.

Maersk issued the latest announcement that ships from Asia to Australia at Meishan wharf need to be transferred and cannot stay at Meishan wharf.

Da Fei also issued the latest route adjustment announcement. Nearly 10 of its routes were affected by the closure of the wharf, so they had to stop at Zhoushan port and prolong the arrival time of ships.

Other terminals in Ningbo Zhoushan port performed smoothly, and Meishan terminal is expected to be unsealed

According to the relevant port data, the total throughput of Zhoushan port has reached 230000 TEUs for three consecutive days, with an average throughput of 74000 TEUs a day.

After the outbreak at Meishan wharf, the relevant person in charge of Zhoushan port quickly took emergency measures, arranged the operation units of other docks to implement the epidemic investigation, and did a good job in relevant nucleic acid detection and isolation.

Now, except Meishan wharf, other wharfs are in normal operation. The operator of Zhoushan port, in combination with the operation capacity of other terminals

in the port, negotiated with the shipping company and planned to transfer the ships docked at Meishan terminal to other terminals.

Earlier, Yantian port in Shenzhen was closed for some time after the outbreak.

Some experts said that for other terminals in the port, the wharf berthing plan has become a little tense.

It will certainly have an impact on congestion and queuing, but at present, the situation will not exceed that of Yantian port.

Meanwhile, according to the port operator, the reopening time of Meishan wharf may be in early September.
