Recently, the global demand for goods imports is very hot, and the import volume of many ports has increased significantly. Especially the ports in North America.Especially the ports in North America.

However, driven by this huge demand, the turnover rate of containers obviously can not keep up, resulting in many cargo ships waiting in line at Los Angeles port and Long Beach port.

According to the data displayed by a container transportation platform, more than 100 ports around the world are congested, and a large number of container ships are waiting for unloading at the port.

In August, North American imports of goods reached 2.5 million TEUs, an increase of 13.5% over the same period last year. This is more than ever before.

A port tracking agency said that consumer demand has been increasing since last year, and now it has almost exceeded the operation capacity of the port.

With the coming of holidays and peak season, the port will be greatly impacted.

On the other hand, the congestion of the port reduces the capacity of highway transportation from the port to the warehouse.

This is mainly because the containers at the port were not unloaded in time. A large number of containers can only be stacked in the port, reducing the number of available containers.

The shortage of containers in turn affects sea freight.

Some experts predict that now is the peak season for freight transportation, and the number of cargo ships entering North America will continue to increase.

If these containers are not handled in time, the shortage of containers will increase, resulting in the rising freight.

Maersk issued a statement asking the shipper to return the container as soon as possible

The relevant person in charge of Maersk issued a statement: "the containers we sent are either on the sea or piled up in the port."

"Now the time of containers staying at the port is nearly four times higher than usual, which will increase the delay of shipping schedule at the port of departure."

"I hope the shipper can return the container, especially in North America, so that we can send the container to the port in demand at a faster speed."

Maersk expects that the congestion will last for some time, the situation is not optimistic, and the volume of goods in the United States will further increase.

"At present, the insufficient turnover of goods in the port is the biggest problem. If there is no effective solution, the consequences will be unimaginable."
