At the end of 2020, China's shipbuilding industry finally comes in good news! On December 28, China State Shipbuilding Corporation under China State Shipbuilding Corporation, together with Hudong Zhonghua, Jiangnan Shipbuilding and Bank of Communications Financial Leasing Co., Ltd. signed a contract for the construction of four 24,000TEU ultra-large container ships. Lin Feng, deputy general manager of China Shipbuilding Trading, and representatives of Hudong Zhonghua, Jiangnan Shipbuilding, and Bank of Communications Leasing signed the construction contract.

It is understood that the above-mentioned projects will be built by Hudong Zhonghua and Jiangnan Shipbuilding, each of which will be independently developed and designed by Hudong Zhonghua. In this project, Hudong-Zhonghua will once again act as the "road pioneer" and undertake the important task of building the first ship.


On December 28, Yangtze River Group signed a contract for the construction of two 24000TEU ultra-large container ships. The ship will be the largest container ship with the largest container capacity and the largest deadweight in the history of Yangtze River Group's construction, with a total number of 24,232 boxes.

The 24000TEU ultra-large container ship is currently the world's largest ship with the largest container capacity and the largest deadweight tonnage, with a total container number of 24,100 boxes and a hybrid desulfurization device. This type of ship adopts the world’s latest green, environmentally friendly, high-efficiency, energy-saving, safe and reliable design scheme. Its unique small bulbous bow, large-diameter propeller and energy-saving ducts make the ship’s fast performance and low energy consumption fully reflected. The double-tower fixed water cannon fire extinguishing system greatly improves the fire safety performance of the deck surface, showing advanced design concepts and cutting-edge shipbuilding technology.


This signing is also the specific implementation of the strategic cooperation agreement signed between China Shipbuilding Corporation and Bank of Communications Co., Ltd. on December 18. According to the previously signed agreement, China State Shipbuilding Corporation and Bank of Communications will carry out in-depth cooperation in financing business, ship leasing business, supply chain financing services, settlement business, international business and other fields. In the next five years, Bank of Communications will provide China State Shipbuilding Corporation with an intentional financing quota of 100 billion yuan equivalent.


It is understood that BOCOM Leasing has established a long-term and stable cooperative relationship with China Shipbuilding Trading and China Shipbuilding Corporation's shipping companies, and has successively carried out more than 50 ship construction cooperation projects, with a cumulative amount of 17.8 billion yuan.
