GLA Global Logistics Alliance is a premier global B2B logistics platform that connects over 7,000 logistics companies across more than 170 countries. With a steadfast vision of “creating a better world for global logistics,” GLA is committed to linking logistics enterprises worldwide, enabling seamless collaboration, and fostering a reliable network for international trade and supply chain activities. As a leading alliance, GLA has been instrumental in establishing robust networks across continents, particularly enhancing cooperation between Middle Eastern logistics markets and the global landscape.

In line with this mission, GLA recently organized the GLA Middle East Logistics Forum 2024 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This event exemplified GLA’s initiative to strengthen partnerships within the Middle East and support regional companies in tapping into the global market. The forum drew over 200 representatives from across 20 countries, including significant stakeholders from Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Egypt, Pakistan, China, and more. The forum aimed to highlight the strategic role of the Middle East in the global logistics ecosystem, bringing together international partners to discuss emerging opportunities and industry challenges in trade, supply chain, and logistics.

Ms. Grace Sun, President of GLA Global Logistics Alliance, warmly welcomed attendees, expressing her enthusiasm for deeper collaboration with regional partners. She stated, "Saudi Arabia's commitment to enhancing its logistics capabilities aligns seamlessly with GLA's mission to foster global partnerships and expand economic connectivity. The Middle East has a unique role in the world logistics network, and through collaborative efforts, we can build a foundation for sustainable growth and success."

The forum’s highlight was its panel discussion, centered around “The Role of Free Trade Zone Policies in Middle Eastern Logistics Development” and “Logistics Sustainability: Adapting to New Regulations.” Panelists discussed how the Middle East can leverage its unique geographic and strategic position to become a logistics bridge between Asia, Europe, and Africa. They explored challenges such as regional regulatory adaptations, infrastructure upgrades, and the potential of free trade zones to drive competitive advantage for Middle Eastern countries. The session underscored the region's potential to serve as a gateway for global trade, with panelists noting that strategic cooperation and innovation would be essential for sustainable growth.

Another testament to GLA’s growing influence in the Middle East was its participation in the prestigious Global Logistics Forum, organized by the Saudi Ministry of Transport and Logistics Services from October 12 to 14, 2024, at the King Abdullah Financial District in Riyadh. This forum, themed “Reshaping the Global Map of Logistics,” gathered leading figures in the logistics industry, including over 130 speakers and 80 exhibitors from 30 countries.

At the Global Logistics Forum, Ms. Grace Sun participated as a panelist in the session titled “Leveraging Diversity: Women’s Leadership in Logistics.” She shared her insights on the critical role of women in driving innovation and progress within the industry, echoing her commitment to advocating for diversity and inclusion. She emphasized that diversity is crucial for driving innovation and progress within the industry and highlighted the importance of increasing women’s participation across various sectors, aligning with Saudi Vision 2030.

Looking ahead, GLA remains steadfast in its commitment to “creating a better world for global logistics.” This year, GLA will host the 11th Global Logistics Conference in Bangkok, Thailand, from November 22 to 25, 2024. The event will welcome participants from over 130 countries, feature more than 200 professional booths, host over 2,000 participating enterprises, and facilitate 100,000 one-on-one meetings, supporting networking and business expansion.

Looking ahead, GLA’s initiatives in the Middle East, combined with its strong global network, promise to open new avenues for cooperation and operational efficiency, enhancing the global logistics landscape. Through strategic initiatives, ongoing partnerships, and expanding presence in high-potential regions like the Middle East, GLA aims to support its members’ growth while contributing to regional economic prosperity. As GLA continues to build bridges across logistics markets worldwide, it is well-positioned to shape the future of the logistics industry and support the international community in addressing the challenges and opportunities of global supply chains.
