2021 is coming to an end. Unknowingly, the tension of offshore supply chain has been accompanied for a year. One of the most obvious is the port congestion crisis.

At present, in addition to the well-known LA / LB ports in the United States, there are also ports such as Shanghai and Ningbo in China and Klang in Malaysia. They all encountered varying degrees of congestion.

A liner company released a data on port congestion. The data show that the congestion in eastern China and Southern California is serious, and the port congestion near the Mediterranean and African coasts is also increasing.

At the same time, the data also pointed out that the port of Klang in Malaysia is suffering from a serious crisis. Nearly 30 ships were waiting outside the port, and the recent strike made the situation worse.

Coincidentally, in southern Europe, the port of Piraeus in Greece has also become the center of congestion. The port was also affected by the strike. This makes the delay of the ship more serious.

It is understood that the number of ships waiting outside La / lb port is increasing. According to the latest data from the Southern California ocean exchange, 101 ships are waiting along the north coast of the United States to Mexico.

Last month, the U.S. authorities extended the stay area of ships to the coast of California and asked ships to wait about 150 miles from the coastline rather than directly close to the wharf.

At present, the U.S. authorities have actually cleared the ships berthed near LA / LB port to prepare for the upcoming storm.

Los Angeles port and Long Beach port have continuously postponed the collection of new "container detention charges" on the grounds that they have achieved good results in handling imported goods. Now we will postpone the collection of fees until December 20.

According to the latest news, since the surcharge was announced on October 25, the import goods of the two ports have decreased by 45%. Los Angeles currently has 16822 containers, while Long Beach port has 19137 containers.

In addition, 487 railway containers stayed at Long Beach port for more than 6 days.
