Time:2015-10-12 Publisher:UNITED SHIPPING RIMEX LTDA Num:40

Two CEA 50 ton cranes working in tandem were used to lift the catamaran, the boat was lifted from its cradle on to four fibreglass support stands. Upon removal of the cradle a CEA multi-axle trailer reversed under the boat, wood chocks and rubber matting were put in place, the trailer was raised and took the weight lifting the boat from its support stands.

The trailer and cargo made the short journey across the boat yard to prepare for the second lift. The cranes lifted the boat over the fence and placed it again on four support stands. As before the hydraulic trailer reversed under the boat and took the full weight. After the boat was strapped and secured it made the 40km journey to the marina launch site with the aid of a police escort to ensure safety for all road users.

Upon arrival at the launch site, the cranes were positioned on the marina wharf ready for the 3rd and final lift. All necessary slings and shackles were attached to the boat and the final lift began.

The cranes lifted the boat up and over the marina barriers and carefully lowered her into the water.

A few nervous moments followed as builders, designers and more importantly the owner of the boat waited to see if she floated.

CEA are happy to say that the boat sat perfectly in the water and all involved were relieved and very happy with the outcome.
